★★★★★ Fast and accurate. After buying this bow I struggled with getting the string. Then upon research I found not only is this common but intentional. Not sure why but YouTube videos show this. I am dead on the target at 50 yards. Can’t wait to add this to my hunting experience next year.

★★★★★ Truly the best in its price range. Consistently impressed. 2nd year, 2nd deer . I'm a new hunter. My buddy did days of research and landed on this. I couldn't find something that looked better in the price range so I went with the Whitetail Hunter STR too. Glad I did. Consistently impressed. Good scope, very rugged design, easy to set up and use, easy to maintenance, fine to get wet, very accurate, holds zero, detachable quiver with built in broadhead wrench, aftermarket straps aren't expensive, great pattern and style, not too heavy, very ergonomic, easy to cock (just make sure you cock it all the way, not hard to do.) The more built-in style stirrup design is way better, more compact and rugged than traditional stirrups. Safety operates well. Literally zero complaints after pretty heavy use in warm, cold, wet conditions, going through lots of thick foliage, etc. I wouldn't buy any other model even close to its price range, there's just no reason to. Go for this.

I got this deliverd about an hour ago prior to writing this, this was stupid easy to put together. that i really liked, took it in my yard where i have a 50 foot archery range set up and fired it three times to see where it was sighted in at. right out of the box at 50 feet the elivation is spot on, with it shooting almost 2 inches to the right. i going out to the big range later to set the sights at 75 yards and will adjust everything there.the rope cocker that came with it seemed short to me, but i used it first and it worked great, then i tried my other cocker as i have two other cross bows, and tried it. dont, use the one that came with it unless you better than 6feet tall. i 5'6.5" and it was too long for me. the one that comes with it seems short, but is great.one of my bows is a recurve at 200lbs, this bow is stouter than that, without a scale i can not tell you what the pull is, but that 200lb recurve pulls easier than this one so be ready.the trigger made me fall in love with it, i have the recurve as well as an older horton compound, and those feel like bricks compared to this one. it is smmoth as my ar and my 320. both of those are 4lb, this is very close to that.both my other bows have a metal spring that holds the bolt in place, this has brushes. will have to wait and see how they hold up, but seems very nice and secure.over all i wish i could give this a seven star review thus far, this feels great and shoots better than any of my other bows. i would be hard pressed to tell someone to skip on this.Ok, after a few weeks, and about 100 bolts fired trough it here is my new thoughts. I am still in love with this, very accurate at 80 yards (ish) as the archery range is not properly marked out. shot completly trough a 12 inch target. have not had the chance to hunt with it as rifle season was on when i got it. I feel very good about this bow and my son is now looking to get himself one as well.Very much worth the money!

★★★★★ If you're on the fence, dont be. If you're on the fence about buying a crossbow for hunting, dont be. I was skeptical about getting one because I have hunted with a compound bow and had success with that and I felt like the crossbow was cheating a bit. That is not really the case. Shooting the crossbow has less of a learning curve as compared to compound bow or recurve but you still need to practice with it, keep consistent form, and stay within your comfort zone for shots on a deer. I'm in the 40 yards or less camp, I know I can hit farther and I'm sure people do, good for them, it's not for me. It's up to you how far you want to go after a wounded deer in the dark. Anyway, the bow was easy to assemble, easy to sight in (pretty accurate out of the box, minor tweaking needed) and is pretty light. The only concern I have is the noise. Makes a pretty good "thunk" when shot but not as loud of a crack as I was expecting. I think some limb dampeners are happening in the near future but that bolt is really cruising so I think at "bow range" the deer would be unlikely to "jump the string" bad enough to where a good shot would turn into a bad one, still possible but that's hunting. So far, I have my first 20 yard "pin" (top line in the crosshairs) dialed in and shoots a group about the size of a half dollar. This was also a great option because I hunt from the ground and in ground blinds where I have a hard time maneuvering a compound bow for a shot. It's a great crossbow for the price and frankly, if it helps you put a better shot on an animal why wouldn't you do it?

★★★★★ Outstanding Crossbow For Beginner or Experienced Hunter. I purchased this crossbow hoping for increased speed and accuracy out to 70 yards. The Barnett Whitetail Hunter STR delivered both. I bought this xbow last Spring 2021. Assembly was rather easy with the bow portion to stock being the most difficult. The fit was extremely tight After assembly I tried one shot at 10 yards at a crossbow target. The 125 grain field point on the included 22" bolt buried this self about 8" into the target slightly higher than the point of aim without any adjustment to the scope. The next several shots were from the 20 yard distance. Bolt point of impact at target was the point of aim. I had a better quality lighted crossbow scope available that I mounted on at this time. The next sighting in shots were done with 20" bolts and 125 grain field points out to 70 yards. Accuracy was very good at all distances, but opened up as the distances increased. At 70 yards groups were slightly greater than 3".PROS: Price Accuracy, use different points ofaim so as not to destroy bolts. Light WeightCONS: Scope of Good Quality, Could Be Better String Cocking Device, Hook Axle feel out after 50 shots Picture of target at 70 yards, outdoors with slight wind.Deer taken with Whitetail Hunter STR at 45 yards, Buck went 40 yards after hit. I would definitely recommend this crossbow.

★★★★★ I checked out alot of crossbows and this one was nicer then most at a higher price it's a little longer but not overly heave like other ones I tried . The only weak point is the scope and that's like all of them tell you get up on the 700- 900 dollar range so I got a new scope at a good price but as for it all it's a good crossbow and get some bowjax limb bampeners these thing are fast and it helps to silence bow and take vibration out will save bow in the long run. And a bow that shots little lower then 400 fps wont plane asmuch and can use more different broadheads

★★★★★ Wow this thing is super light and super fast. I had fallen and broken my other crossbow beyond the hope of repair. I had it a respectable 10 years, so it was getting old anyway. It was also a Barnett and I killed bunches of turkeys with it over the decade. I don't care which brand it is when a 250+ pound man falls on something, something has to give. It was my ribs and the firing mechanism of the crossbow. It could probably been repaired but I wanted a new one anyway.I searched all over Amazon and came to this model. It is SO light compared to my old one. SO compact! Plus it was 85 fps faster than my old crossbow. The first shot blew through my target! I'm going to have to upgrade my crossbow target.The only downside I've seen is the scope isn't that great. I mean it is acceptable, but I'm going to replace it with something better. I tried putting my old Tru Glo on it, but it wouldn't adjust up far enough for this new bow. Perhaps I will shim it and try it when I get home.Cocking this thing is a bear! I wouldn't buy this for a woman or child. It is just too difficult. If you cocked it for them you could. I would recommend getting the optional cranking device if you aren't very strong. I'm a big guy and frankly it has a pretty decent tug.When I compared it with my brother in law's higher end Barnett the weight, speed, and such were almost identical! The only major difference is that he has better glass on it. For the price you can't beat this deal.They make two lower powered models that are probably just as good. On top of that they are lighter by .2 pounds.

★★★★★ Accurate and extremely powerful. I've only shot at "test dummies" at 30ft and any soft target this hits the arrows are going straight through at this range. Even with the standard tips this crossbow is LETHAL! A well placed shot should easily take down a large deer or elk considering what I've shot through. Again I've only shot dummies but considering the arrows went cleanly through it without damage this is an excellent choice for deer hunting. I know bow hunters that hunt black bear and this crossbow could definitely work considering the draw weight and energy. The scope is great. I've made no adjustments and I've shot it almost a dozen times and it's still accurate. The only downside is that even with the crank, reloading takes time so follow up shots are slow. But, if you hit your target right, a follow up shot will not be necessary!

★☆☆☆☆ Scope Defective, Item arrived damaged, danger from string NOT locking into trigger. The box was badly damaged. The item was not properly packed. The bow box was in a larger box with no padding so it was knocked around inside larger box which caused damage.Assembly was easy for an experienced Xbow person BUT for a beginner the instructions were NOT detailed enough and can cause issues if not assembled correctly. Pay special attention to the cable slide as well as the scope attachment plates and cable slide ends have specific tolerances that need to be installed correctly, this is NOT called out in the instructions. The hand rail was broken off due to poor packing. The scope turrets were maxed out on the elevation which means I could not adjust the scope.The scope has no flip up covers and the reticle is not lighted. If I were to keep the xbow (doubtful) I would immediately replace the scope.Upon cocking the string would not lock into the trigger(and yes I did check the safety to insure it was off)This was an issue on the older 370 xbow and all the videos show the pull string hooks needing to face outward if behind the the bow cocking. This is wrong if one faces the string hooks inward if cocking the bow the string will then latch almost every time. The mechanics I will not get into BUT it is VERY important on these low end bows to insure the string seats in the trigger housing the same way very time you cock the bow or it was cause shot placement variances.Cocking the bow requires setting the cocking string length properly for easier pulls.Yes it is a low end bow BUT beginners may find it challenging to use. If you just want to shoot target tipped arrows for fun it should suffice. I would not recommend this bow for hunting especially with wideprofile fixed broadheads. Some expandables will shoot ok like the Swhacker, Rage not so well.The bow is on the heavy side and has a lot of sound/vibration dampeners which is always a clear signalthat engineering on the bow is lacking. Cam rotation was even and the timing seem to be correct. It has the same cable and string quality as the 370 which after shooting will require retuning the bow.The trigger pull is way to long again much like the older 370 (a trigger kit can fix this)If I were to keep the bow the fixes and upgrades would put the total cost around 700+ $

★★★★★ read directions carefully. Heavy, I would never stalk or drive holding this bow. long too. You better have long legs if you wish to cock this bow with the standard cocking rope. I had to switch around the springs on the release to get it to lean back just like I have to do with those cheap Chinese crossbows. But once you have that corrected you can cock it even when on safe. No more fiddling the F around while trying to cock it.

★★★★☆ Nice Back-up Bow. My son convinced me to take up bow hunting with him several years ago and we both purchased a Stryker 380 cross bow back then. Last year, my son's bow had an issue that took several months to get parts and have the repair made, and he barely got it back in time for bow season. My nephew also uses a cross bow to hunt, and he had to purchase a new cross bow during the season because the one he was using failed. My son and I discussed this situation and concluded we have spare rifles for firearm season and should have a spare bow for bow season. Something we can become familiar with in the off season and be ready to go in the event of a bow failure during the season. We decided on this Killer Instinct cross bow. We have taken it out and shot it several times to become familiar with it. Things I like about the bow are its speed, size and weight. Things I don't like as well are the trigger pull, amount of force required to cock it and the fact that you must put the safety on before you cock it or the string will not latch when you pull it back. This results in having to release it slowly back down. I believe the string should latch regardless of whether the safety is on or not, and automatically go into safety mode when the string is pulled back. These are little things to get used to.Assembly of the unit wasn't hard, but just something else to have to do. This is the first cross bow I had to assemble before using and it did cause a little concern that I would assemble it properly. These things are powerful and could hurt you. But then again, I disassemble and assemble firearms all the time without hesitation - so it is all about familiarity.Overall, I'm happy with the cross bow and think it is a fine back-up bow in case of an emergency. I was surprised to be able to get this speed (405 fps) at this price point.
